2018 Resolutions

Many people spend a lot of time in reflection during this time of year. They think back on the past year and evaluate if they met their resolutions that were made for the previous new year; and they look ahead towards the year to come. They try to plan their goals for the new year and strategize how their goals can be met. This year I have decided to create and resolutions list for 2018 and I will actively update my progress throughout the year.

2018 Resolutions

  • Practice BJJ more often- This past year, with my wife having our first child, was tough on my attendance at BJJ. This year I have the opportunity to instruct and would like to have a much more regular attendance record than last year.

  • Post this blog regularly- I have tried several times in the past to keep a blog. As a user on reddit pointed out "the only way to fail is to not post". I did just that. I was very inconsistent with my posts and stopped altogether after a bit. I will post at least once a week maybe more. My posts will be about various topics especially in the beginning. I hope to find my voice and direction of the posts as I get more readers and a couple of responses.

  • Eat healthier-a couple of podcasts I regularly listen to have inspired me to change my diet pretty much for life. For 2018 I plan on cutting sugar out almost completely as well as refined carbs. I am going to eat a fairly clean keto(ish) diet.

  • Swear less-I have always enjoyed my "adult" language. With the arrival of my son who is looking at me and learning from what he sees me do, I would like to try to set a better example in how I talk and what I say.

  • Write more-not just on this blog but in general in my journal. I would like to re-tap into my creativity and stop holding myself back.
